It was highlighted to me recently a day that didn't go exactly as planned for one of you.
As they jumped in the car, the tyre alert turned on. A quick assessment showed their vehicle was not lying to them, there was in fact a screw embedded in the track.
Thankfully they were still at home and not on the side of the road but that tyre had to be changed and with everything that was happening that day, there was no extra time to wait around for assistance.
What ensued was a proper workout!!
Lifting a heavy spare out of the boot. Getting down on the ground to position the jack. Jacking it up high enough to lift the vehicle.
Breaking loose the wheel nuts that felt like they hadn't been touched in years (because they weren't). Squatting. Pulling. Carrying. Twisting.
By the end of it, not only were they covered in dirt and grease, they were seriously sweating. And their back was screaming at them also! No shock there but it made them think about what we do at SFX.
This is why we train.
Not for a PR. Not to close our rings on our Apple Watches. Not even to look a certain way.
We train so our bodies have the capacity to meet life's unexpected moments.
Changing a tyre. Carrying your child after they've fallen asleep. Lifting your suitcase into the overhead bin. Getting down on the floor to play with your grandkids and getting back up without thinking twice. Helping a family member/friend move houses.
These are the moments where strength matters most.
The goal isn't simply to be pain-free.
It's to build a body that's ready for whatever life asks of it.
Because life doesn't give us a warning before it asks us to be strong.
It just asks. And when it does, you don't want strength to be something you wish you had.
Let it be something you've been building all along.
That's why we train.
Not just for the workouts we'll choose tomorrow.
But for the moments we never see coming. 💪
